Mitch Volcan launches solo project with Do It Again

“Do It Again is the start of a new chapter for me. It’s my first solo track and it’s authentic to who I am, shaped by where I’ve been, and a glimpse of where I’m going.”

Mitch Volcan begins his solo chapter with emotive pop punk single Do It Again

Mitch Volcan has released his debut solo single, Do It Again, opening a new chapter for the former The Hype and 3REE frontman.

The Australian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist takes a more direct route on the propulsive track, drawing on pop punk and emotive punk while handling the guitars, drums, bass, vocals and lyrics himself.

Do It Again was produced by Alex Copp, whose previous credits include As December Falls and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and mastered by Grant Berry, known for his work with Boston Manor, Stand Atlantic and Deaf Havana.

A fast-moving connection

Volcan says the single reflects both a personal reset and the immediacy of a relationship that accelerates before either person has time to question it.

“Do It Again is the start of a new chapter for me. It’s my first solo track and it’s authentic to who I am, shaped by where I’ve been, and a glimpse of where I’m going,” Volcan says.

“The song is about meeting someone and feeling that instant, almost crazy connection where everything moves way too fast, but in the moment, you don’t care where it ends up.”

Having previously explored a sound that brought rock into contact with electronic and trap influences, Volcan’s solo material strips the focus back towards the rawer pop-punk instincts at its centre. Listen to Do It Again here.
