Movements unveil Separate video as Happier Now album details emerge
Movements have shared a video for Separate, the darkly charged closing track from their forthcoming fourth album, Happier Now.
Due for release on 4th September via Fearless Records, Happier Now reunites the band with producer Will Yip, whose longstanding work with the group continues on a record said to move between melodic post-hardcore, knotty rhythmic shifts and more spacious pop textures.

A darker record beneath the title
While the album’s title might suggest a lighter chapter, vocalist Patrick Miranda has described the new material as one of the band’s most personal collections to date, confronting the recurrent nature of depression even when life appears more stable on the surface.
“The album title is a little tongue-in-cheek because if you actually read the lyrics, it’s a pretty dark record and I think that’s what a lot of people want from Movements,” Miranda says. “Happier Now is an extremely personal record and when I started to write the lyrics for these songs, I realised maybe I wasn’t doing as well as I thought I was doing. I’m in an objectively better place than I used to be, but when you struggle with depression, that never fully goes away.”
Yip, who has worked on most of the band’s recorded catalogue, returns as producer for the album. “We’ve always said that Will is like the fifth member of this band and he’s always really helped tie our sound together,” Miranda says. “He has such a strong vision when it comes to our sound that he’s able to come up with ideas that we really appreciate.”
