Reclus.É share politically charged new single Isolationist ahead of debut album
Reclus.É, the collaboration between Daniel P Carter and Tummyache’s Soren Bryce, have released their new single Isolationist, accompanied by a new visualiser.
The track arrives ahead of the duo’s debut album, The World Can’t Take Much More, which is due for release on 13 November via Rise Records. It follows earlier single A Muted TV, which examined the influence of technology and wealth on self-image and the wider social psyche.
Isolationist has a longer history than the project itself. Carter wrote and demoed the instrumental during the pandemic at his home studio, before sending it to Bryce in early 2025.
Carter said: “Isolationist was the very first Reclus.É song. I think it was the first instrumental I sent to Soren in about March 2025 and as soon as she sent it back with her vocal on it, I think we both knew that this was going to work.
“The music for it has been around long before that though, as it was written and demoed at my home studio during the pandemic. I recorded it in isolation and it has kept its original working title of Isolationist from back then.”
A song written in response to Gaza
Bryce’s lyrics bring a direct political focus to the track, addressing the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the role of Western governments.
She said: “I wrote the lyrics to Isolationist about the ongoing genocide in Gaza as well as America and England’s complacency and complicity in it happening.”
The single lands after a busy first year for the band, which saw Reclus.É support A Perfect Circle on their UK dates and appear at 2000trees, Outbreak, All Points East and ArcTanGent.
