Reclus.É Announce Themselves With Debut Single A Muted TV

Reclus.É, the brand new project from Daniel P Carter and Soren Bryce of Tummyache, have arrived with their debut single ‘A Muted TV’, marking the first glimpse of their forthcoming debut album.

The band have also signed to Rise/BMG, setting the stage for a summer that already includes high-profile live appearances with A Perfect Circle, plus slots at Outbreak and 2000trees.

A New Collision Of Sound And Thought

Built from the creative meeting point of Carter and Bryce, Reclus.É is described as a project rooted in the experience of existing in the modern moment. Their name nods to French anarchist geographer Élisée Reclus, a fitting reference point for a band dealing in tension, atmosphere and fractured social reflection.

Musically, the project draws from a restless and wide-reaching palette. There are echoes of Fugazi and The Sound in its wiry urgency, the dreamlike shimmer of The Stone Roses, the glacial melancholy of The Cure, and the breakneck intensity of Bad Brains. Holding it all together is Bryce’s vocal presence, cutting through the turbulence with a mix of force, fragility and clarity.

A Muted TV And A Portishead Reimagining

Debut single ‘A Muted TV’ takes aim at technology, wealth and the way both shape self-image and the social psyche. It is a sharp first statement from a band already sounding fully formed, balancing catharsis with a widescreen sense of unease.

The release is backed by a cover of ‘Roads’ by Portishead, a bold choice that leans into the project’s darker, more cinematic instincts.

The single was produced by Daniel P Carter, Soren Bryce and Peter Miles, with Miles also mixing the track. Drums come courtesy of Louis Giannamore, with recording taking place at Middle Farm Studios and The Black Lodge.
