The Jesus & Mary Chain and The Psychedelic Furs announce eight-date UK co-headline tour
The Jesus & Mary Chain and The Psychedelic Furs will join forces for an eight-date UK co-headline tour in January 2027.
The run follows a series of US co-headline dates staged by the two bands in 2024, bringing their respective strains of feedback-drenched melody, post-punk tension and art-rock drama to venues in England and Scotland.
Opening in Leeds on 19 January, the tour will travel through Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham and Brighton before closing at London’s British Airways ARC on 29 January.
Two distinctive catalogues on one bill
The shows place The Jesus & Mary Chain’s abrasive pop classics alongside The Psychedelic Furs’ sharp-edged new wave catalogue. Jim and William Reid’s band released their eighth studio album, Glasgow Eyes, in 2024, while Richard Butler and company’s most recent record is 2020’s Made Of Rain.
For the Scottish group, the set is likely to draw from a catalogue that includes Just Like Honey, as well as material from Psychocandy and their later releases. The Psychedelic Furs, meanwhile, arrive with enduring singles including Pretty in Pink and a body of work reaching back to Talk Talk Talk.
