This first day of the festival is more of a soft opening giving a little extra time to get tents set up and find your bearings before the main event starts on Thursday, but there is still entertainment to be had. Once we’d unpacked and sorted the tent out, we headed up to the Forest stage and managed to catch sets by Palm Reader, Black Foxxes, Johnny Forenieger and a mesmerising headline set from Pulled Apart By Horses.

The first main day of the festival, all stages open up, and we race around from one stage to the other. The good thing about 2000 Trees is that it’s not a huge festival, and it’s only a few minutes or so walk between each of the music stages once you’ve got the lay of the land. Thursday’s gallery includes Crashface, Phoxjaw, Nervus, Gnarlah, DITZ, Delaire The Liar, Kneecap, Holding Absence, Bleak Soul, The Oozes, Dinosaur Pile-Up, SNAYX, Creeper, Anti-Flag and Cassyette. Unfortunately, we couldn’t include shots from Jimmy Eat World‘s set due to contractual agreements.

Friday sees yet another hot and sunny day and the strongest day for music so far for Punkinfocus as old and new favourites deliver incredible shows across the five stages. Friday’s gallery includes Heriot, James and the Cold Gun, The Virginmarys, Petrol Girls, Orchards, Saint Agnes, Salem, The Hara, Rolo Tomassi, Boston Manor, Bob Vylan, Turnstile and our highlight of the day, Pup.

The final day of the festival, the legs are getting heavier by the second, with the last three days starting to take their toll on every part of the body.

If you are thinking of heading down to next year’s festival we highly recommend going VIP, not only the closer car parking and shorter queues at the bars but also if you are up early enough you can access the main stage area before the rest of the festival goers and take advantage of the food stalls with shorter queues for breakfast, and you’ll be ready to hit the stages from the get-go!

Saturday’s lineup is another absolute banger and enough punk and rock for us to sink our collective teeth into. The final day gallery includes Honey Buzz, Panic Shack, Dream Nails, Lizzy Farrall, Mannequin Pussy, Rews, Kid Kapichi, Gen and The Degenerates, Nova Twins, Knocked Loose, Ginger Wildheart and The Sinners, The Chats, Lauren Hibberd, You Me At Six, CLT DRP and the colossal headline set from IDLES.

2000 Trees Festival shows that the future of this independent festival is strong. This year showcased not only some top international acts but so many up-and-coming bands and artists that set the five stages alight over the four days. Don’t forget if you want to join in the fun next year to head over to the 2000 Trees website for tickets. If it is anything like this year’s event, it’s sure to be another sell-out.
