Kid Bookie And Corey Taylor Confront Their Demons On Explosive New Single Blame

“This song is almost a therapy session for me — truly an honour to keep pushing the envelope with someone who has just pushed it as far as it can go, but has completely revamped what the envelope fucking is.” — Kid Bookie

Kid Bookie And Corey Taylor Face The Mirror On Bruising New Single ‘Blame’

Kid Bookie is back, and he has brought one of rock’s most formidable voices with him. The genre-defying artist has released ‘Blame’, a new single featuring Corey Taylor — frontman of Slipknot and Stone Sour — and the result is one of the most emotionally charged collaborations of his career. Raw, confrontational and deeply personal, the track marks the latest step in what is shaping up to be a fearless new chapter for Kid Bookie.

The release follows the cultural ripple caused by his previous single ‘Rose McGowan’, which featured the activist and actress in her first musical collaboration in years. That track drew attention across music and film communities alike, praised for its symbolic power and the collision of two uncompromising voices. With ‘Blame’, Kid Bookie pushes even deeper into uncomfortable emotional territory — and the results are startling.

A Decade In The Making

Kid Bookie and Corey Taylor’s creative partnership stretches back nearly ten years, but ‘Blame’ feels like something new for both of them. Where previous work leaned into intensity, this record strips back the ego entirely and asks harder questions — about accountability, growth, and the willingness to own your actions without flinching.

Kid Bookie described the track as something close to a therapy session, speaking candidly about what it meant to make it.

“Accountability is the removal of ego and pride to see beyond your own nose, to allow yourself the room to grow via ownership of your actions. I feel this record is a coming of age, even for us. New territory, but a familiar approach to make sure we embolden each other through music. This song is almost a therapy session for me — not just via my own lyrics, but to how Corey has made me feel by exposing himself so bare in this record.”

Taylor, for his part, was sold from the very first listen. “Books is one of my favourite people, not just artists, and every time he comes to me with an opportunity to create with him, I’m always excited because I know I’m going to hear something I’ve never heard before. ‘Blame’ was so good the first time I heard it, I signed on without even knowing what I’d do. I’m proud of the song, and I’m proud of him.”

The New Era Takes Shape

‘Blame’ is not arriving in isolation. The single sets the stage for Kid Bookie’s forthcoming album, due later this year, which promises to expand on the emotional honesty and sonic restlessness that has made him one of the most unpredictable figures in alternative music. If ‘Blame’ is any indication of the direction, the record will not be an easy listen — but it will be a necessary one.

There is a clarity of purpose to Kid Bookie right now that feels different. The bravado is still there, but it is underpinned by something more considered. ‘Blame’ does not perform vulnerability — it inhabits it, and that is what makes it hit so hard.
