Old Foes take South West Water to task in Floods of Shit video
Old Foes have released a new single and video, Floods of Shit, a blunt blast of Cornwall punk aimed squarely at South West Water and the continuing discharge of untreated sewage into the region’s rivers and coastal waters.
Released on Friday 17 July, the track is the third single from the band’s forthcoming album Truth Be Told, due via All In Vinyl Records. Its title leaves little room for interpretation: this is a furious response to the water pollution affecting beaches and surf spots across the South West.

According to figures cited by the band, South West Water discharged untreated sewage for around 407,005 hours across 46,164 spill events during 2025. The issue has again come under scrutiny following Channel 4’s Dirty Business, while coastal communities continue to contend with water-quality warnings before heading into the sea.
A practice-room protest
The accompanying video was made by the band in their practice room at Mount Hawke Skatepark, matching the song’s no-frills, DIY punk charge. Old Foes feature members of Wonk Unit, Rash Decision and Bangers, with Rash Decision drummer and former Fresh Specimen member Ed Specimen taking vocal duties and writing the songs.
“Polluted seas kill wildlife, make humans sick, and fuck up our beaches,” the band say. “We need to renationalise all providers of basic human needs like water and electricity, and anyone who profited from running those services into the ground for private gain should be force-fed the shit that they are pumping into our oceans.”
Before recording and release schedules took hold, the band’s first merchandise consisted of moulded skate wax and extra-long Rizlas. Floods of Shit, however, puts the focus firmly on a local crisis with consequences far beyond Cornwall’s coastline.
