Ricky Warwick shares Phil Collen collaboration as Fire & Vengeance tour dates land
Ricky Warwick has released Seek Zen Destroy, a new single featuring Phil Collen of Def Leppard on guitar and backing vocals.
The track is the latest preview of Warwick’s forthcoming album Fire & Vengeance, due out on 4 September via Earache Records. It follows the record’s title track, released in May alongside a Mark Hylands-directed video assembled from life on the road with Ricky Warwick & The Fighting Hearts.
Musically, Seek Zen Destroy pulls from the funk and soul records Warwick grew up with, including the work of The Isley Brothers, Funkadelic and Earth, Wind & Fire. Its lyrical target is considerably sharper.
“Seek Zen Destroy is about the way control gets dressed up as comfort,” Warwick says. “The song takes a swing at hypocrisy, fear, fake salvation, and the modern habit of selling people peace while quietly robbing them blind.
“At its heart, it’s about people being fed fear, flags, excuses, and easy answers, while real freedom keeps getting pushed further out of reach. Seek Zen Destroy is the contradiction: everyone claims to be searching for peace, enlightenment, and meaning, but the machinery around us is built to divide, distract, and consume. It’s a song about trying to find something real in a world full of false prophets, stolen language, and beautifully marketed bullshit.”
A new record shaped by speed and instinct
Fire & Vengeance features further guest appearances from Doug Aldrich, Charlie Starr and Darren Holden. Warwick says the 10-song record was written quickly, a process he believes fed directly into its energy.
“I’m not one of those guys who needs to disappear into a cabin in the mountains with all this fancy gear,” he says. “All I need is a room and a guitar, and the ideas come. It’s a working-class thing, something I had instilled in me when I was a kid.”

Warwick will mark the album’s arrival with nine September in-store appearances, before taking Fire & Vengeance across the UK and Ireland for a headline run in November. Tickets go on sale on 17 July at 10am.
