Beabadoobee shares Memories ahead of Pylon and UK arena tour

“Clinging onto ideas that should make me happy but actually make me feel sad, because I wish they were moments that I lived in forever.”

Beabadoobee releases Memories as Pylon and biggest UK shows draw closer

Beabadoobee has released Memories, the latest single from her forthcoming album Pylon, which arrives on 18 September via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records.

The track is the third preview of the record, following Sun Has Set and Switchblade. Built around a warm, wistful sense of reflection, Memories finds Bea looking backwards with a mixture of comfort and unease rather than pure nostalgia.

Describing it as “one of the happiest songs on the album”, Bea said: “I fall deeply into a spiral of romanticising bygone moments, clinging onto ideas that should make me happy but actually make me feel sad, because I wish they were moments that I lived in forever.”

A rawer edge on Pylon

Pylon follows 2024’s UK number one album This Is How Tomorrow Moves, but its writing process reportedly took Bea back to the isolated way she worked as a teenager. The songs were largely written alone in hotel rooms, a setting she said “reminded me of how I wrote songs at 17, alone in my bedroom, feeling sad as fuck.”

The album is set to move through rockier, more volatile terrain, with Bea framing the record as one that shifts between anger, loneliness, elation, depression and intense romantic fixation. Memories sits among 14 tracks, including Estranged, Nothing To Prove and the title track.
