Spanish Love Songs unveil Doom Tripping as Future Nausea UK tour takes shape
Spanish Love Songs have released new single Doom Tripping, offering another preview of their forthcoming album Future Nausea, due out on 6 November 2026 via Pure Noise Records.
The band have also confirmed a 20-date European and UK headline run for early 2027, including eight UK shows across Southampton, Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham and London. Support on the European dates comes from Michael Cera Palin and Carly Cosgrove, with Bike Routes joining the UK leg.
Doom Tripping arrives as a shimmering but unsettled piece of guitar-driven rock, with frontman Dylan Slocum framing the song around mental health, disorientation and the small absurdities that can make everyday life feel unreal.
“This song is my attempt to make a shimmering pop song that evokes how it feels to be inside my brain right now,” Slocum says. “I wrote a good chunk of it while I had to taper off antidepressants for awhile and started suffering from severe vertigo and the return of symptoms that had previously made me lose my voice for three months.”
He continues: “Meredith and I often joke about glitches in the simulation. This song is entirely made up of these glitches. Moments in life so surreal they made me go ‘what the hell is happening?’ That exasperation defines a lot of my life these days.”
“But it’s ultimately a song about not giving up. It’s about recognising this all might be a bad trip, hoping it’ll be over soon, and clinging to the idea of building something better when it’s done.”
A record staring down tomorrow
Future Nausea was produced by former Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla and Illuminati Hotties’ Sarah Tudzin. The record takes the wide-screen instincts of heartland rock and turns them towards a more anxious horizon, with the band examining a future that feels increasingly difficult to picture clearly.
The album includes previously released track Good American alongside Doom Tripping, Welcome To Hell and the closing Until the Sun Explodes.

Cost of Living tickets on UK and European run
Before the UK and European dates, Spanish Love Songs will play NIVA’s first Live Independent Tour certification tour across the US in November, visiting independent venues exclusively. Their 2027 run will include a limited allocation of £20 and €20 Cost of Living tickets at each show.
