Avatar to perform Feathers & Flesh in full at Royal Albert Hall for 10th anniversary
Avatar will bring Feathers & Flesh to London’s Royal Albert Hall on 30 March 2027 for a one-night-only performance celebrating the album’s tenth anniversary. The show is set to feature the record in full, with orchestral arrangements, dancers, a live choir and the band’s usual theatrical staging.
A landmark album returns in a landmark venue
The announcement follows the release of Don’t Go In The Forest, a summer supporting Metallica on the M72 World Tour, and a run of headline shows around the world. For this date, Avatar are turning one of the city’s most recognisable halls into a full-scale setting for the album that sharpened their cinematic, narrative-heavy approach.
Johannes Eckerström said: “Feathers & Flesh changed the entire trajectory of how we work. Once you’ve started to think of the big picture in your work, you can’t put that genie back in the bottle. We’ve done all kinds of albums since then, and we will continue to do whatever the muses tell us to do. The thing that they have in common, whether they’re comedy concept albums or satanic sock hops, is that we view them as paintings. They are cohesive pieces of work with a point.”
The band added that the night will be an exclusive staging of Feathers & Flesh, with the Royal Albert Hall show set to lean into the album’s dramatic side rather than treat it as a standard anniversary gig. The venue’s own organ, choir-friendly acoustics and scale should suit the kind of maximalist spectacle Avatar have been building around their live shows in recent years.
Standard tickets go on sale on Wednesday, 8 July at 13:00 BST via the band’s official website, while limited VIP Parliament Packages and Talon Tickets are available now through the official fan club.
