Left to Suffer launch their Hopeless Records chapter with new single Gun in the Duffle Bag
Left to Suffer have released Gun in the Duffle Bag, the band’s first track since signing to Hopeless Records. The new single arrives as a jagged, full-force statement, leaning hard into the band’s ugliest impulses without sanding down any of the tension.
Built around punishing low-end, violent rhythmic turns and a sense of emotional claustrophobia, Gun in the Duffle Bag pushes rage right to the front. It is less a polished reintroduction than a blunt impact, with Left to Suffer using their first Hopeless release to make the tone of this next stretch unmistakably clear.

Anger, regret and survival instinct
Speaking about the track, vocalist Taylor Barber said: “This song is about when your anger has boiled over, and you’ve lost all sense of control on your emotions. So you’re violently romanticising the downfall for your enemies in your head.”
Guitarist Peter Higgs added: “’Gun in the Duffle Bag’ is one of the more brutally honest songs we’ve put out when it comes to anger, regret and survival instinct happening all at the same time. Can’t think of a better way to settle in and show everyone this new chapter we’ve entered with Hopeless Records.”
That framing fits the song itself. Rather than treating the signing as a clean-slate moment, Left to Suffer have gone for something rawer and more unstable, with the new single pulling from the same volatile space described in Barber’s quote.
Dying Fetus tour set for the autumn
The release also lands ahead of a North American run with Dying Fetus this autumn. No full date list was included in the announcement, but the tour has already been confirmed as the band’s next move following the single.

With Gun in the Duffle Bag, Left to Suffer have opened this Hopeless Records era with something deliberately ugly, tense and uncompromising.
