Melvins lead first Desertfest London 2027 line-up announcement
Melvins have been named as the first headliners for Desertfest London 2027, with the Camden heavy-music festival set to return across multiple venues from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 May.
The Washington-founded trailblazers will top the bill as Desertfest unveils the first 12 names for next year’s edition. The opening announcement also brings Swedish riff architects Monolord, German blackened death-punk duo Mantar, Virginia experimental doom outfit Inter Arma and Montreal sludge trio Dopethrone to Camden Town.
Seattle’s Year of the Cobra will make their first Desertfest London appearance in eight years, while British heavy metal outfit Desert Storm join the bill as they mark two decades together.

A first wave built for Camden’s heaviest rooms
Monolord return following their packed 2024 appearance at the Electric Ballroom, while Mantar will bring their stripped-back, abrasive two-piece attack to the festival. Inter Arma’s inclusion arrives during the band’s 20th anniversary year, adding another shade of dissonant and expansive heaviness to the opening wave.
Desertfest said of the headliners: “Desertfest London is honoured to have the Melvins take their rightful place as headliner next May 2027.”
