SNAYX channel toxic attraction into dark new single Lost Cause
SNAYX have released Lost Cause, a brooding new electronic rock track that turns its attention towards toxic codependency, emotional hunger and the destructive pull of a relationship neither side can leave behind.
Out now via Nettwerk Music Group, the Brighton alt-punk outfit’s latest single moves through a thumping electronic pulse and heavyweight riffs, with the band steering their usual serrated energy into a moodier, more intimate space. Rather than the larger-than-life release of recent single Nice Day 4 It, Lost Cause finds tension in dependency and the uneasy comfort of shared damage.
The band said: “Lost Cause is about toxic codependency and the vampiric nature of consuming someone emotionally. Survival through shared trauma and constantly needing more from someone else to fill an internal void. It’s escapism and implosion all at once. The twin ouroboros.”
A darker strain of electro-rock
That idea runs through the track’s uneasy blend of propulsion and seduction. Its taut electronic undercurrent gives way to oversized guitar lines and a restless vocal performance, framing attraction as something compulsive rather than comforting.
Lost Cause follows Nice Day 4 It, but heads away from that song’s self-destructive euphoria towards a more claustrophobic kind of chaos. The result is a compact blast of electro-rock built for late-night rooms and the point where a bad decision starts to feel inevitable.
Festival stops and Yonaka support dates
SNAYX will take the new material on the road throughout September and October, with festival appearances, a sold-out Weston-super-Mare headline show and a run of UK support dates with Yonaka. The itinerary includes London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town, Manchester’s New Century Hall and a hometown stop at Brighton’s Concorde 2.
