The Amity Affliction bring House Of Cards tour to the UK this October
The Amity Affliction have announced four UK shows for October 2026, bringing their House Of Cards tour to Manchester, London, Nottingham and Bristol.
The Australian heavyweights will arrive after a run of European dates in support of their ninth studio album House Of Cards, which is out now. They will be joined across the UK and European leg by Silent Planet, Varials and Orthodox.
The UK run begins at Manchester’s O2 Ritz on 10 October before stopping at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town, Rock City in Nottingham and O2 Academy Bristol.
A record shaped by grief and memory
House Of Cards is the band’s first album to feature clean vocalist Jonny Reeves, whose melodic performances bring a fresh counterweight to Joel Birch’s harsher delivery. The record centres on themes of grief, addiction, rage and loss, with Birch drawing heavily on memories of his mother and his upbringing.
“If it isn’t about my mother specifically, it is about things that I have experienced that are directly tied to my experience growing up and where that has landed me now,” Birch says.
He continues: “Break These Chains is directly tied to that and the confusion I felt when dealing with my mother dying and all the crazy shit she had at her house, Speaking In Tongues is about the hypocrisy of my mother sending me off to church constantly throughout my life and my very negative experiences within said church, Afterlife is me musing on my lack of belief that there is an afterlife, Reap What You Sow follows on from there in its own way and Eternal War is the closer that explains how I find myself feeling a lot of the time.”
Recent singles Bleed, Kickboxer and Heaven Sent have previewed the record’s collision of bruising riffs, cathartic choruses and unflinching lyricism. Birch says Kickboxer began with a request from guitarist Dan Brown after he watched the Jean-Claude Van Damme film of the same name on the tour bus.
“Dan sent me a text later that night… ‘Hey can you write a song with Kiss of Death in it?’” Birch recalls. “I wrote that song in my bunk on tour, as I do many others, and it’s just a song expressing my distaste for the way I grew up having people pray for me, or lay hands on me to pray, and how I’m not waiting on some divine being to come and save me from any situation I am in.”
House Of Cards EU/UK tour dates
The tour opens in Wiesbaden on 18 September before moving through Germany, Scandinavia and mainland Europe. The four UK dates follow in October.
