The Darkness announce Crock of Hits and Moth Club launch show

The Darkness set Crock of Hits release with Moth Club show and UK arena dates

The Darkness have announced their first personally curated greatest hits album, Crock of Hits, due for release on 27 November via Warner Music.

The collection draws material from across the band’s eight studio albums, from Permission To Land through to 2025’s Dreams On Toast, alongside the perennial festive favourite Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End). Extended editions will also include live recordings, radio sessions and a new version of Masters Of The Universe featuring Brian May.

Justin Hawkins said: “Listen upon our works ye mighty and rejoice! Crock of Hits will startle you. Hold you as you tremble. And gently force you to succumb to its aural splendour. A ‘best of’ curated by us, so you can be certain it’s the bestest of the bestiest. Suck it up, people…”

A small-room celebration in Hackney

Before the record arrives, the band will play an intimate album launch show at London’s Moth Club on 17 September. Pre-sale begins at 10am on Tuesday 8 September, before general sale opens at 10am on Thursday 10 September.

Hawkins added: “The first rule of Moth Club is, don’t fly into the lightbulb. Just kidding – nocturnal Lepidoptera rejoice! We’re coming to play at the Moth Club. That thing about burning yourself to a crisp is more of a guideline than a rule, so come celebrate The Darkness on this special night…”

Four editions, from vinyl highlights to deep cuts

Crock of Hits will be issued digitally, on 1LP, 2LP, 1CD and 3CD. The standard vinyl edition offers an 11-track run through the catalogue, while the three-disc version reaches further into B-sides, sessions, live recordings and later material.

Seven arena shows in December

Following the album’s release, The Darkness will take Crock of Hits into arenas for their largest UK headline run in 20 years. The seven-date Best Of The Darkness tour begins in Glasgow on 8 December and concludes with the band’s first headline show at London’s The O2 on 16 December.

They will be joined throughout by American country-rock outfit Brothers Osborne and UK rock band A.
