Behemoth Announce ‘The Shit Ov God’ – New Album & Music Video Released
Polish extreme metal titans Behemoth have unveiled details of their highly anticipated 13th studio album, The Shit Ov God, set for release on 9th May via Nuclear Blast Records. Accompanying the announcement, the band have also dropped the album’s incendiary title track, complete with a visually arresting music video that is available to watch now.
Frontman Nergal describes the record as the band’s most inflammatory and extreme to date, a relentless eight-track assault that explores themes of humanity, divinity, and defiance in an era obsessed with salvation—whether musical, political, or spiritual.
Speaking on the album’s deliberately provocative title, Nergal states:
“We chose this provocative title deliberately, rejecting subtlety in favour of a direct and polarising statement. It’s a defiant plunge into the depths, daring to seek the absolute even in the gutter.”
A Darkened Vision: Music, Art & Production
As ever, Behemoth’s visuals are as meticulously crafted as their sound. The album artwork, created by Bartek Rogalewicz (BLACK.LODGE.IS.NOW) and Dark Sigil Workshop, presents an inverted Christogram, reinforcing the band’s blasphemous artistic vision.
Production duties were handled by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Emperor, Enslaved, Kreator, Rotting Christ), ensuring the record retains Behemoth’s signature ferocity while sacrificing none of the chaos that defines their sound.
