September UK headline tour on sale now

Boston Manor is back with their fifth studio album, Sundiver, slated for release on September 6th via SharpTone Records. Alongside this announcement, the Blackpool quintet has dropped the album’s lead single, “HEAT ME UP.”

A New Dawn: ‘Sundiver’

Frontman Henry Cox sets the tone with Sundiver’s opening lyrics, “Could you please open that window, let the new world in.” This contrasts with the opening lines of their 2022 album Datura, signalling a shift from the past’s darkness to a future bathed in light. Sundiver is a celebration of new beginnings, second chances, and rebirth, reflecting the personal growth of the band members, including recent journeys into fatherhood.

HEAT ME UP

Produced by Larry Hibbitt and engineered by Alex O’Donovan, the album was recorded in the tranquil settings of the home counties, a stark contrast to the urban confines of their previous works. This environment has infused Sundiver with a brightness and optimism that’s palpable throughout its tracks.

Exploring ‘HEAT ME UP’

The new single “HEAT ME UP” was an organic creation, born out of a spontaneous barbecue session on a sweltering day in Welwyn Garden City. Henry Cox describes it as a song about obsession and gratitude, capturing the spirit of the album’s creation process.

A Double Album Journey

Datura and Sundiver together form a cohesive narrative. Where Datura explored shadowy, nocturnal themes, Sundiver bursts forth with the energy and vibrancy of a summer’s day. The band aimed to create a sound that feels like “blistering sunshine,” without falling into overly cheerful tones, resulting in what they believe is their best and most ambitious work yet.
