Fantazmaz unveil self-titled debut loaded with rage and resistance

“We recorded the whole thing in two days… raw and real. This is our first full album, and we’re bloody excited for it to finally come out.” – Thami, Fantazmaz

Fantazmaz Fire Up Debut Album with 30 Seconds of Raw Fury

Brazilian-born, UK-based punks Fantazmaz have announced their long-awaited, self-titled debut album, set for release on July 4th via Ghetto Bitch Records. A sonic firebomb packed with fury, distortion, and dark wit, this 11-track full-length marks the arrival of a band unwilling to play nice—or play safe.

Blasting out the gates with the confrontational 30-second single ‘Dead On The Way Home’, Fantazmaz waste no time setting the tone. Inspired by a harrowing news story from Brazil, the track is a looped chant of violent tragedy: “Got shot dead on their way home.” It’s as raw and direct as punk gets.

“The album is angry and frustrated, pretty much because we don’t see a future,” says frontwoman Thami. “It’s right there for everyone to see… We just thought, why the hell not drop a full album?”

Fantazmaz—formed by Thami and guitarist Raf Oliver in 2019—solidified their line-up with bassist Chokito and former U.K. Subs drummer Jamie Oliver. The band’s chaotic and confrontational live shows quickly gained them attention across punk circles, and with this debut, they’re looking to explode even louder into the global scene.

Recorded over two whirlwind days at Monolith Studio in London, Fantazmaz is a direct hit of hardcore rage with no frills. But beneath the aggression lies a musical curiosity. ‘Scars Of Downtown’ channels 80s hardcore alienation, ‘Corporate Behave’ swipes at capitalist conformity with a sneer straight out of Jello Biafra’s playbook, and album closer ‘Just Before Hell Comes Around’ shifts into eerie hip-hop beats.

Then there’s ‘Are You Enjoying The Peaceful Skies?’, a slinky, sinister take on bossa nova, drawing inspiration from Chico Buarque and warped through Fantazmaz’s own anarchic filter. It’s moments like these that prove the band is more than just brute force—they’re artists wielding destruction as a form of commentary.

The album drops just as the band gears up for a run of European shows and an appearance at Rebellion Festival before returning to Brazil for a run of explosive homecoming gigs. If Fantazmaz is anything to go by, 2025 is going to be a year full of noise.
