Blondshell, Been Stellar and Cardinals Join Fontaines D.C. for Monumental Finsbury Park Show

Fontaines D.C. have added even more firepower to their biggest-ever headline show, announcing Blondshell, Been Stellar and Cardinals as the latest additions to their sold-out Finsbury Park bill on Saturday, 5 July 2025. The trio of emerging acts joins an already explosive line-up featuring Amyl and the Sniffers and Kneecap, setting the stage for what’s shaping up to be one of the summer’s defining gigs.

From Manhattan Open Mics to the Finsbury Stage

Leading the new wave of support is Blondshell, the candid and confrontational alter ego of LA’s Sabrina Teitelbaum. Steeped in the gritty lineage of NYC’s alternative greats like Patti Smith and the Velvet Underground, Blondshell’s music is both a howl of emotional clarity and a celebration of queer identity. She’ll be performing hot on the heels of her new album If You Asked For A Picture, landing on 2 May 2025.

New York Grit Meets Irish Gloom

Been Stellar, the NYC quintet known for their brooding, feedback-drenched sound, channel the cool despondency of Interpol and Sonic Youth with ferocity and finesse. Their presence on the lineup brings a dose of New York grit, while Irish newcomers Cardinals inject a heady swirl of shoegaze, folk, and punk into the mix. Their self-titled debut EP has already marked them as ones to watch, drawing comparisons to ’60s-era wall-of-sound aesthetics crossed with raw poeticism.

From Pub Gigs to 45,000 Fans

This show marks a full-circle moment for Fontaines D.C., whose first London gig back in 2017 drew just 30 people to The Finsbury pub. Fast-forward to 2025, and they’re now gearing up to command a crowd of 45,000 just down the road. The Dublin band’s rise has been meteoric, with accolades including two BRIT Awards, GRAMMY nominations, and the NME’s title of Best Band In The World. This Finsbury Park gig is not just a milestone—it’s a victory lap.
