The Molotovs appear in The Beatles’ official Instagram reel for Day Tripper release
The Molotovs have appeared in a new reel shared by The Beatles’ official Instagram account, with the London band performing the unmistakable guitar riff from Day Tripper.
The clip is a collaboration between The Beatles’ account and Denmark Street venue and studio Sixty Sixty Sounds. It arrives in support of Day Tripper (Songwriting Work Tape), a rare early recording set to feature on an expanded edition of Rubber Soul, due in October.
Before the riff took shape
The work tape captures Day Tripper before its defining riff had been added, while the new reel brings that eventual hook to the foreground through The Molotovs’ performance.
The appearance comes as the band prepare limited-edition CD and cassette editions of their new release, Urbia/Down At The Cafe, their first new music since their No. 3 debut album.
