Pleaser Unleash Raw Chaos and Desire on New Single Ride
Danish punks Pleaser are back with a visceral new single, Ride, the second cut from their highly anticipated upcoming album Begging Guitars, due out 23rd May via Copenhagen’s Part Time Records.
A band known for fusing the soul of punk with melodic and emotional extremes, Pleaser take a sharp turn into the chaos of longing and emotional overload on Ride. With dual vocalists Annie Nyvold and Suo Fei trading between gnashing and tender moments, the track is both feverishly restless and strangely serene—a high-speed trip into mindless desire and disassociation.

“Ride takes you on board the full-speed-ahead vehicle of mindless addiction to life’s extremes,” the band explains, “with fierce emotions on full display… a no-control motor, heading towards collision—but with dreams of finding and withholding direction.”

Sonically, Ride packs adrenalized riffs, razor-edge tempo shifts, and a surprising melodic tenderness that points to the group’s early emo and experimental rock influences. It’s a sonic paradox that embodies both the destruction and beauty of giving in to your urges.
Ride follows the album’s ferocious title track, Begging Guitars, which dropped earlier this year and cemented the album’s emotional and musical ambition. That track blended searing verses with silkier vocal lines, offering a mantra for letting go of perfectionism and embracing imperfection as freedom.
Pleaser’s evolution is evident across their growing discography. Still rooted in punk ethics and raw intensity, the band now ventures even further into expansive territory—both sonically and thematically. Their sound criss-crosses emo vulnerability, punk aggression, metal’s heaviness, and the sprawling ambition of experimental rock.
With past praise from outlets like Cvltnation, Bandcamp, and Maximum RocknRoll, and growing recognition in their native Denmark, Pleaser are quickly earning a place on international radars. Their debut sparked festival appearances at Roskilde, K-Town Hardcore Fest, and Metal Magic, along with spins on BBC Radio 6 Music.
Now, Begging Guitars promises to be their most cohesive and creatively daring statement yet—a punk record as much about release and freedom as it is about disorder and disruption.
