Shooting Daggers Find Hope in the Chaos on “My Oh My”
Shooting Daggers have shared their new single and video “My Oh My,” the latest cut from their upcoming mini-album The Real Life Thing, released June 5 via New Heavy Sounds.
A band built on urgency, conviction and community, Shooting Daggers have never been content to simply make noise for noise’s sake. Sal, Bea and Raquel channel hardcore force into something politically alive and emotionally direct, and “My Oh My” lands as another sharp burst of purpose from one of London’s most vital heavy bands.

A Song About Hope and Resistance
Arriving at a time when the world can feel heavy, “My Oh My” pushes back against despair. The track is rooted in hope, resilience and liberation, with the band framing it as a call for freedom in the face of suffering, exploitation and the endless hunger for power.
It is classic Shooting Daggers: punk-fuelled, politically aware and emotionally clear-eyed. Beneath the grit and drive is a belief that change is still possible, provided people keep showing up for each other.
The Real Life Thing Arrives in June
The Real Life Thing follows the band’s acclaimed debut album Love & Rage, and was recorded at Bear Bites Horse Studio with Wayne Adams, known for his work with Big Lad and Green Lung.

The mini-album packs seven songs into 20 minutes, pushing the band’s rocket-fuelled punk and hardcore foundations further into melodic, adventurous territory. It also features special guests including The Menstrual Cramps and Dennis Lyxzén of Refused.
Rather than slowing down, Shooting Daggers sound like a band sharpening their message and expanding their world.
A Video Built From Everyday Beauty
For the “My Oh My” video, the band wanted to capture the small moments of light that often get missed in everyday life. After discovering that much of their original travel footage had been lost, they regrouped and filmed much of the video in a single day, visiting favourite spots, eating vegan food in the park and ending the day playing Scrabble at the pub.
Raquel also filmed additional B-roll on a handheld camera, gathering fragments of daily life and quiet beauty. The final video was brought together by Fernando J Martinez, who previously worked with the band on “Wipe Out.”
The Real Life Thing will be released on limited edition shiny black vinyl and digital formats on June 5 via New Heavy Sounds.
