The Darkness confirm Feeder and A for December UK arena dates

The Darkness have announced Feeder as special guests for their December UK arena tour, completing a three-band bill that also features alternative rock outfit A.

The seven-date run begins at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 8 December and concludes with The Darkness’ first headline show at London’s The O2 on 16 December. The itinerary also takes in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Brighton.

Feeder will build their support set around material from their recently re-issued debut album Polythene. Frontman Grant Nicholas said: “We can’t wait to rock with our old friends The Darkness and A. We are going to be playing songs exclusively from our re-issued debut album Polythene. Feeder x”

A rock-heavy arena bill takes shape

The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins welcomed the addition of Feeder with his customary humour, referencing the bands’ appearance on Bargain Hunt.

“Feeder have agreed to join the bill for our arena tour and we are OVER THE MOON!” Hawkins said. “Eagle eyed television enthusiasts will remember the legendary episode of Bargain Hunt when Frankie and I made more money than expected on a tin bath and condemned them to defeat.

“They were gracious in a way that we would not have been. I really like them as people and they rock hard.

“I still have my Bargain Hunt wind cheater but I promise not to wear it side stage during their set to taunt them…”

Crock of Hits arrives before the tour

The arena shows follow the release of The Darkness’ first personally curated best-of collection, Crock of Hits, which lands on 27 November via Warner Music. The compilation draws from all eight of the band’s studio albums, from Permission To Land through to 2025’s Dreams On Toast, and includes festive staple Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End).

Available on 1LP, 2LP, 1CD, 3CD and digital formats, the expanded editions add live recordings, radio sessions and a new version of Masters Of The Universe featuring Brian May. Pre-order the album here.
