Joanne Shaw Taylor releases The Trouble With Love and lines up 2027 UK tour

Joanne Shaw Taylor has released her new studio album The Trouble With Love, alongside the defiant new single Never Gonna Please ‘Em All, and announced a nine-date UK tour for May 2027.

Out now through Journeyman Records, The Trouble With Love is a 10-track record produced by Kevin Shirley. It finds Taylor drawing together blues, rock, soul and Americana while focusing on the messy, shifting realities of relationships, memory and self-worth.

The album includes collaborations with Joe Bonamassa on the title track and Orianthi on What Good Is My Love?. Elsewhere, You And Me (Rachel’s Song) is framed as a tribute to Taylor’s best friend, while This Is Who I Am reinterprets a song by Celeste.

A refusal to shrink

Released with an official video, Never Gonna Please ‘Em All takes aim at the impossible and contradictory expectations routinely placed on women. Built around a stubborn blues-rock groove, the track turns that scrutiny into a refusal to make herself smaller for anyone else’s comfort.

Its central lyric, “I turned my heartbreak into a work of art,” links the song’s self-possession to Taylor’s writing process, where personal experience becomes material for something louder and more pointed. Visit Joanne Shaw Taylor’s official website for the video and album details.

The record moves from the bruised push-and-pull of the Bonamassa-assisted title track to the gospel-inflected resilience of Hell Or High Water and the darker pull of Bad Boy.
