Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s Villa Park farewell show heads to home formats

Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s historic Back To The Beginning concert will be released as a film and soundtrack on 11 December 2026, following its worldwide cinema premiere.

Captured at Birmingham’s Villa Park on 5 July 2025, the show marked Osbourne’s final performance and reunited the original Black Sabbath line-up of Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the first time in more than 20 years. The event, staged in Osbourne’s hometown, was watched by a global live audience after demand reportedly exceeded three million ticket requests for the 44,000-capacity show.

The film is currently playing in more than 250 UK cinemas and will arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, CD, 2LP vinyl and digital via Mercury Studios. Osbourne’s performance of Mr. Crowley has also been released as an advance track and video.

The three-and-a-half-hour film centres on Osbourne’s solo set and Black Sabbath’s closing performance, while also including appearances from the guests assembled for the occasion. Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Gojira, Guns N’ Roses, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Metallica, Pantera, Rival Sons, Slayer and Tool were among the artists on the bill.

The Blu-ray editions will also feature Jack Black’s rendition of Mr. Crowley and Fred Durst’s performance of Changes, alongside a behind-the-scenes featurette, video tributes and the Sounds of Birmingham documentary.

Sharon Osbourne, who executive-produced the concert film, said: “Back to the Beginning was a once-in-a-lifetime event that will go down in music history. Ozzy suffered from chronic pain during the final six years of his life. His only wish was to perform one last time to thank his fans and say goodbye.

“It was an incredible day when his peers in the rock world descended on Aston from all over the globe to celebrate his legendary talent and extraordinary legacy.”
