Aerial Salad launch Ideal World with Everybody Needs Somebody

“It’s a fresh yet familiar sound, beautifully arranged and carrying a powerful message. The song is about love and friendship in the darkest of times.”

Manchester trio Aerial Salad unveil the first taste of Ideal World

Aerial Salad have launched their next phase with Everybody Needs Somebody, the first single from their new album Ideal World, due out on 6 November via Venn Records. The song lands with a new video and a pre-order link for the record, which follows last year’s R.O.I. and 2025’s Roi de l’herbe EP.

A return to The Castle Hotel

The new video was shot upstairs at Manchester’s Castle Hotel, a venue closely tied to the band’s early live story, with local aspiring actors invited to step into the Aerial Salad role for a brief cameo. It gives the track a grubby, off-kilter visual edge that fits the song’s punchy melody and clipped momentum.

Aerial Salad have also had early radio support for the single, with BBC Introducing describing it as “a song about the hope we find in love” and praising its attitude, flow and “undeniability of brilliance”.

Vocalist and guitarist Jamie Munro says the track is rooted in the kind of plainspoken sentiment the band tend to sharpen into something bigger. “It’s a fresh yet familiar sound, beautifully arranged and carrying a powerful message. The song is about love and friendship in the darkest of times, centred around the lyric: ‘Life is one memory. If you don’t believe in yourself, just keep going.’ It’s a reminder not only to themselves, but also to their loved ones,” he said.

The new record is already taking shape

Ideal World is being framed by the band as a record steeped in pain, fear and hardship, but one that still carries a clear message of resilience. The album arrives on 6 November and pre-orders are now open.
