Parker Barrow return with Blinded and set sights on new album Hold the Mash

“The main riff sounds very Stonesy. I approached the rhythm guitar parts how I would imagine Keith Richards would play them if he was in the band. Blinded is a good example of the less is more approach where the beauty lies in its simplicity.”

Southern rock revivalists Parker Barrow are back in full throttle mode for 2026, unveiling their latest single “Blinded” alongside news of their long-awaited sophomore album Hold the Mash, arriving July 17. It marks the band’s first new material of the year—and a confident statement from a group rapidly carving out their place in modern blues-rock.

“Blinded” lands with grit and groove, leaning into the band’s signature ‘vintage-shop rock’ aesthetic—where swaggering riffs meet soul-drenched vocals. Written by drummer and founder Dylan Turner and guitarist Alex Bender, the track acts as both a sonic anchor and creative compass for the record that follows.

A riff-led statement of intent

According to Bender, “Blinded” helped define the direction of Hold the Mash early in the writing process. There’s a deliberate nod to the loose, groove-first philosophy of The Rolling Stones—particularly in the track’s stripped-back, Keith Richards-inspired rhythm work.

The result is a song that thrives on restraint. Its power lies not in excess, but in feel: a tight, Stonesy riff, a locked-in rhythm section, and space for the vocal to breathe.

Lyrically, Turner turns inward. The song reflects on the modern obsession with validation and the distractions that come with it—offering a more grounded, spiritual perspective beneath the swagger.

The road to Hold the Mash

Set for release July 17, Hold the Mash expands on the foundation laid by last year’s EP of the same name. Fan favourites like “Make It,” “Novocaine,” “The Healer,” and “Glass Eyes Cryin’” return here, now joined by four new tracks that push the band further into their blues-soaked, Southern rock identity.

Fronted by husband-and-wife duo Megan Kane and Turner, Parker Barrow have built their reputation on chemistry as much as musicianship. Kane’s powerhouse vocals soar over Turner’s driving grooves, while Bender’s guitar work stitches everything together with flair and precision.

Since forming in 2019, the band has grown into a full-bodied unit, now featuring Will Tipton (guitar), Kyle Priber (bass), and Eric Safka (keys). Their sound draws clear lineage from the likes of The Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, and Blackberry Smoke, while still feeling unmistakably their own.

Built for the stage

If Hold the Mash is the next chapter, the stage is where Parker Barrow truly come alive. Their reputation as a formidable live act continues to grow, blending classic rock swagger with modern Southern energy.

Following a run of U.S. dates, the band will head to the UK this July for their first headline tour across the country, alongside festival appearances at Maid of Stone Festival and Steelhouse Festival.

With a debut album (Jukebox Gypsies, 2023) already under their belt and a growing international following, Parker Barrow are stepping into 2026 with intent. “Blinded” feels less like a return and more like a declaration—they know exactly who they are, and they’re doubling down on it.
