Having only revealed their existence a matter of months ago, south coast trio snake eyes released a critically-lauded debut EP ‘skeletons’ in October 2020 and now they’ve got a couple of b-sides from the release which are getting to see the light of day.

‘20 bottles’ was written about an old house mate I had who was troubled to say the least,” says vocalist and guitarist Jim Heffy of the first cut they’ve revealed. “The song kind of speaks for itself but let’s just say I was glad when the lease ended and I could finally move out. It was originally intended for the skeletons ep but we decided it’d be good to start the new year with – a song that’s full of beans! Excited to get out and play this one live!”

Blending grunge and brit pop to come forth with their own “grit pop” style, snake eyes also play with punk rock and indie sensibilities, making their music a fun and fervent ride. They’ve been recording between Jim’s bedroom and drummer Thomas Coe-Brooker’s attic, which has certainly resulted in a real and raw sound. Tracks from the EP have enjoyed support from the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, Planet Rock Radio, BBC Music Introducing in the South and Alex Baker at Kerrang! Radio.

Snake Eyes – Skeletons B-Sides

snake eyes recently played the second edition of online festival Five4Five as part of a stacked line-up headlined by Yonaka and also including The Dangerous Summer, Vukovi and Weatherstate. The event raised money for Music Venue Trust’s #SaveOurVenues crisis fund.
