A New Chapter for AVANTASIA
Symphonic metal masterminds AVANTASIA have released their latest single, “Against The Wind,” featuring H.E.A.T. frontman Kenny Leckremo, as the first glimpse of their upcoming album, Here Be Dragons, out 28 February 2025 via Napalm Records. Combining blistering speed, uplifting melodies, and theatrical power metal grandeur, the track exemplifies Tobias Sammet’s unparalleled ability to craft anthems that resonate.
Sammet describes the single as an “uptempo rocket” and adds, “This song is about staying true to yourself despite challenges. It’s demanding vocally and musically, and Kenny Leckremo brought his full range to this performance. Together, we’ve created something extraordinary!”
Here Be Dragons: A Bold New Journey
The tenth studio album by AVANTASIA promises to take fans on a cinematic, emotional ride. Featuring 10 tracks written entirely by Tobias Sammet, the album balances classic AVANTASIA staples with fresh surprises. From the spellbinding choirs and symphonic grandeur to evocative storytelling, Here Be Dragons is poised to be the band’s most cohesive and powerful release yet.
Highlights include the title track, a nearly nine-minute epic, and the haunting “The Witch,” alongside the hard-hitting, fan-favourite-to-be “Creepshow.”
The album also showcases stunning artwork by British fantasy artist Rodney Matthews, further enriching the mythic atmosphere of the project.
