Palaye Royale, the dynamic L.A.-based trio, has just released their latest single and video, ‘umakemenotwannadie’, through Sumerian Records today. This release is not just a standalone piece; it heralds the exciting announcement of their upcoming EP, ‘Songs For Sadness’, hot on the heels of their ‘Sextape’ EP, which was unveiled at the tail end of last year.
‘Songs For Sadness’ marks a significant shift from the band’s recent work. This EP delves into a softer, more romantic, and introspective territory, drawing inspiration from their early Emo roots, the synth sounds of the 80s and balladic elements. It’s a distinct contrast to the heavier aspects featured in their previous EP, ‘Sextape’.
The release of ‘Sextape’ capped off a phenomenal year for Palaye Royale. They celebrated their highly successful album’ Fever Dream’ with their largest-ever headline tour across the EU and UK. This included a completely sold-out gig at London’s Eventim Apollo and an electrifying performance at the Reading & Leeds Festival. With ‘Songs For Sadness’, the band is poised for an even more remarkable year. They’re gearing up to unveil a more extensive project soon, promising to share more details shortly. Additionally, they’re slated to perform at major festivals such as Slam Dunk in the UK and France, Tons of Rock in Norway, and Ilosaarirock in Finland, with more dates to be announced shortly.
Palaye Royale’s unique blend of brit-pop, glam rock, and art-punk has garnered over a billion streams throughout their career. They’ve cultivated a dedicated and almost cult-like following with their energetic and dirty rock’n’roll style. Having arrived in Los Angeles as teenagers, the brothers climbed the ranks of the tough LA rock scene, progressing from underground basement gigs to headlining major arenas globally. With standout performances at renowned festivals like Reading and Leeds, Download, and Pinkpop, and sold-out shows in places as diverse as Amsterdam, Prague, and Mexico City, Palaye Royale continually strives to strengthen their unique bond with their fans, affectionately known as the Soldiers of the Royal Council.
