Yungblud brings Bludfest Year 3 to a noisier, bigger finish in Czechia

Yungblud headlined Bludfest Year 3 in Hradec Králové, Czechia on Saturday, playing to a reported 20,000 fans at the first international edition of the festival he created. The one-day event spread across three stages and pulled in sets from Primal Scream, Biffy Clyro, Palaye Royale, Pale Waves, Jesse Jo Stark, Nieve Ella, Destroy Lonely, Leap and Pam Rabbit.

A headline set built for maximum noise

Yungblud opened with the brooding introduction to Hello Heaven, Hello, before a confetti blast and a run into Lovesick Lullaby sent the crowd into overdrive. He greeted fans in Czech and shouted “ruce nahoru” before a barrage of pyrotechnics kicked in beneath a set that pulled from all four studio albums and his collaborative EP with Aerosmith.

Elsewhere in the main set, The Funeral, My Only Angel and Zombie all landed, while Fleabag brought one of the night’s most familiar Bludfest rituals. Scanning the crowd for signs, he spotted a young fan in a Nirvana T-shirt and called him onstage to play rhythm guitar, later saying, “This is what Rock n’ Roll is about.”

The mood shifted for Changes, his tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, which briefly hushed the site before the set rolled on through Lowlife and the closing stretch. Before heading into the final songs, Yungblud also paid tribute to the festival’s behind-the-scenes team, telling the crowd, “I just want to say that this festival is built by powerful f*cking women. Thank you.”

Biffy Clyro and Primal Scream keep the festival moving

Earlier in the day, Czech pop and R&B artist Pam Rabbit opened the main stage with a hometown set, while Nieve Ella unveiled a new song, Standing on a Pane of Glass. On Stage 2, The Velvet Hands tore through garage-punk cuts including Telephone Love and Holiday in My Head, while Jesse Jo Stark leaned into desert-rock atmosphere with Dandelion and Fire of Love.

As the headline slot approached, Biffy Clyro served up a bruising set containing Mountains and Many of Horror, with Simon Neil telling the crowd, “It’s an honour to be here. You’re going to have the night of your f*cking lives.” Fans then made their way to Stage 2 for Primal Scream, whose set brought mass singalongs to Movin’ On Up and Loaded.

The site also featured the Gibson Stage, where emerging names including Daland, Seb Torgus, Precious Pepala, Bothworlds and Ruworr!ed played across the afternoon. Bludfest’s newer installations included YBHQ Club, the Beautifully Romanticised Accidentally Traumatized store and the returning Make A Friend tent, while Yungblud was spotted moving around the site between sets.
