The Funeral Portrait Deliver Another Gut Punch with “Skinny Lies”

Hot off a string of radio hits and high-profile collaborations, The Funeral Portrait are turning up the emotional intensity with the release of their brand new single “Skinny Lies.” Out now via Better Noise Music, the track is the first glimpse at the deluxe edition of Greetings From Suffocate City, due June 13—and it’s a brutal, beautifully crafted confessional.

A New Era of Emo-Driven Rock

“Skinny Lies” continues the band’s mission of blending theatricality with raw storytelling. Anchored by Lee Jennings’ impassioned vocals, the track exposes the fragile truths buried beneath relationship façades. “It’s that moment when the truth is out, and you find yourself wishing you could go back to the comfort of not knowing,” Jennings shares. Lyrically dark and sonically urgent, the song offers a cinematic lens on emotional collapse—true to form for the band who’ve made melodrama into a musical weapon.

The song arrives as part of the 24-track deluxe edition of Greetings From Suffocate City, which collects the original album, tracks from the CASSANOVA and FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS EPs, and three brand new songs: “Skinny Lies,” “Evergreen,” and “Lost Boy.” The physical editions feature 21 tracks, including one exclusive song, “Friends Like These.”

Chart Heat and Fan Rewards

This isn’t a band resting on their past. “Suffocate City” (featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills) shot to No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart last fall, and their current single “Holy Water” (with Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch) is climbing the same charts.

To celebrate “Skinny Lies,” the band is offering fans a chance to win a trip to their June 4 hometown show at The Tabernacle in Atlanta—VIP access included. Proceeds benefit The Trevor Project. Fans can enter HERE.

Nonstop Touring Across the U.S. and Europe

Between now and the end of the year, The Funeral Portrait are relentless. They’re currently headlining U.S. dates with The Rasmus and Archers before jumping back on the road with Ice Nine Kills. Festival appearances include Warped Tour, Sonic Temple, Welcome to Rockville, Rock Fest, and Louder Than Life.

Later this fall, they’ll join The Rasmus again for a European run that brings them to the UK in late November and early December.
