The Interrupters Unveil Animated Video for “Alien”
Los Angeles-based band The Interrupters have unveiled an animated video for their track “Alien” from their fourth studio album, In The Wild. The video, created by Ukrainian sisters Olga and Vira “MadTwins” Ishchuk (@madtwinsart), renowned in the punk scene for their animation work with bands like Social Distortion, NOFX, and Flogging Molly, brings a unique visual experience to the song.
The storyline, conceived by Aimee Interrupter, struck a chord with Mad Twins, who shared, “The song ‘Alien’ spoke to us strongly because we know what it is like to be an abandoned child and a weirdo. Aimee and the guys wanted the main character to be a skeleton, which was a challenge. In punk rock and metal, there are many visuals of skeletons, and we wanted the main character to be different and for the audience to empathize with him. The value of the song ‘Alien’ lies in its open expression of the struggles of finding one’s place in society, something well-known to those in the punk rock subculture. The ‘happy end’ at the video’s finale is less significant than the character’s sincere journey to find his path. This is not the time to lie down in the pit of death; life is precious even if you feel like an alien.”

About The Interrupters
Formed in 2011, The Interrupters came together when the Bivona brothers—guitarist Kevin Bivona, bassist Justin Bivona, and drummer Jesse Bivona—met Aimee (Interrupter) on various bills while she was a solo artist. Bonding over similar musical tastes, they formed The Interrupters and released their self-titled debut in 2014. They have since shared stages with bands like Rancid, blink-182, Green Day, Bad Religion, and many other punk stalwarts, solidifying their status as a dynamic force in the punk scene. Their fourth studio album, In The Wild, was released in August 2022.
