Sex Pistols’ Final Tour Captured in New Special Edition Vinyls

“They said no one could be more bizarre than Alice Cooper or more destructive than Kiss. They have not seen the Sex Pistols.”

Sex Pistols Release Legendary 1978 US Tour Recordings

Experience the Chaos and Glory of Their Final Days. Pre-order HERE

The Sex Pistols’ incendiary 1978 US tour is finally coming to life for fans with the release of three full live albums, marking the first time these iconic performances are available. This long-awaited collection showcases the punk legends at their rawest during a tour that shaped their legacy—and ultimately saw their demise.

The release includes remastered recordings from:

  • Atlanta, South East Music Hall (5th January 1978)
  • Dallas, Longhorn Ballroom (10th January 1978)
  • San Francisco, Winterland Ballroom (14th January 1978)

Each show will debut as a special edition vinyl—red, white, and blue, respectively—before culminating in a 3CD set and digital download featuring all three performances.

A Tour for the History Books

Punk icon Johnny Rotten’s now-infamous sendoff at the Winterland Ballroom—“Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?”—became the bitter punctuation mark on a tour that pushed boundaries, divided audiences, and ignited controversy. The Pistols, consisting of Rotten, Paul Cook, Steve Jones, and Sid Vicious, stormed into the American heartland to find themselves clashing with protestors, police, and their internal discord.

Sex Pistols Live USA 1978

A radio advert for the Dallas show proclaims: “They said no one could be more bizarre than Alice Cooper or more destructive than Kiss. They have not seen the Sex Pistols…Banned in their own home country, England’s Sex Pistols denied admittance to the United States – the Sex Pistols bring the new wave to the Metroplex this Tuesday night in the Longhorn Ballroom.”

Amidst the chaos, they delivered blistering renditions of tracks like ‘God Save The Queen,’ ‘Bodies,’ and the aptly retitled ‘Anarchy in the USA.’ The newly mastered recordings transport listeners into the thick of it—gritty, unfiltered, and unapologetically loud.
